Kathmandu, February 11 Thapathali-based The British College Hatemalo Foundation collected 101 pints of blood during a blood donation camp organised in the capital today. The foundation was formed under the Extra Curricular Activities for Corporate Social Responsibility activities by the students of the college keeping in view the constant blood demand in the market. According to a press statement issued here today by the foundation, the programme was held in collaboration with the Blood Transfusion Service of Nepal Red Cross Society. While donating blood, Rajen Kandel, CEO, TBC, expressed his delight and stated that he was inspired by the hard work put in by the students to organise such an event. He further said that participating in sound extra-curricular programmes contributes to the development of health and happiness, emotional maturity, social competence and moral values. “Thus, along with managing their studies, students should try to be involved such social activities as much as possible and take from the fine example given today by the students who organised the event,” he added. The coordinator of the Hatemalo Foundation pointed out that the members of club have always taken on social responsibilities alongside their education.
