Kathmandu, February 24 Saroj Kumar Basnet today announced his candidacy for the presidency of the Educational Consultancy Association of Nepal, an umbrella organisation of educational consultancies across the country. Organising a press meet here today, the panel led by Basnet announced candidacies for various posts in the organisation. Basnet is the proprietor of Bagbazaar-based NETCOTECH Educational Consultancy. The election for new leadership of the organisation is scheduled for February 27. Mahesh Babu Timilsina, Rajendra Risal and Niraj Sitaula are competing for vice-president from the Basnet-led panel. Similarly, Mahesh Bhandari has announced candidacy for the post of general secretary. Likewise, Umesh Dhungel and Rajani Shrestha are competing for secretary, Bharat Regmi for treasurer, Rakesh Shrestha for joint-treasurer and Surya Bahadur Dangi, Kamala Basnet, DR Thapa, Ramesh Thapa, Riti Tandukar, Prasant Shah, Ramesh Joshi and Bikram KC for members. Rajendra Baral, ECAN president, Deepak Gurung, former president of ECAN, and advisers Mahesh Karki and Aruna Lamichhane were also present at the press meet. Meanwhile, earlier this week, Prakash Pandey, vice-president of ECAN and executive director of Putalisadak-based Mate’s Education Consultancy had announced his candidacy for the presidency of the association.
