HETAUDA: A market monitoring team in Hetauda on Thursday seized 30 kg unhygienic sweets from two sweetmeat shops here. A joint monitoring team led by regional food technology and quality control office took hold of the sweetmeats from Alok Gupta Sweets and Chat Pasal and from open-air shops run on pushcarts in a Hetauda bus park are. “As the sweets were made by using inedible colour and kept in unhygienic condition, we had to seize them,” said Cottage and Small Industry Office Chief Puskar Bhattarai, adding that the team also suggested to the shop owners not to play with customers’ health. The team monitored a total of 14 shops on Thursday. The monitoring team comprised representatives of District Administration Office, Makawanpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, different consumer-related organisations, pressmen as well as security personnel.
