AJACCIO: Gazelec Ajaccio coach Thierry Laurey suffered “non life-threatening” injuries in a motorbike crash on Wednesday, the French Ligue 1 side’s president told AFP. “He had a motorbike accident. His life is not in danger,” said club president Olivier Miniconi. “He suffered bruising to his chest and a cracked rib, but no real fracture. It could have been much more serious,” added sporting director Christophe Ettori, confirming that Laurey had left hospital and was at home resting. Gazelec, who are 18th in the table, visit Lorient in the season’s final round of matches on Saturday and must better Toulouse’s result at Angers to avoid an immediate return to the second division. However, Miniconi said he was unsure whether Laurey would take charge of the team at the weekend. “I have no idea about that, what matters to me right now is the health of Thierry.”
