Panga School defeated Manju Shree School 7-4 in the final of the Ratna Shield Inter-school Football Tournament, organised by All Nepal Football Association to mark the 78th birthday of Queen Mother Ratna.
Crown Prince Paras, who is also the patron of the National Sports Council, gave away prizes to the winners. In the final held at Dasharath Stadium under floodlights, Upen Maharjan scored a hat-trick, Nikesh Maharjan netted two goals, and Dikesh Maharjan and Biswas Lama got one goal each for Panga School of Kirtipur, Kathmandu. Rabindra Khadka and Purushottam Khadka scored two goals each for Manju Shree of Sainbu, Lalitpur. Nikesh opened the scoring in the 11th minute and added another in the 77th minute, while Upen found the net in the 12th, 41st and 59th minutes to complete his hat-trick. Dikesh scored in the 21st and Biswas Lama netted a goal in the 45th minute.
Rabindra scored in the 25th and 61st minutes, while Purushottam found the net in the 51st and 64th minutes.
