NPDA prez candidacy

KATHMANDU:

Shiva Prasad Ghimire, second vice-president of Nepal Petroleum Dealers’ Association (NPDA) has announced his candidacy for the post of president of the association. The upcoming national convention of NPDA scheduled for September 9 in Kathmandu will select the new executive committee. Ghimire, who is also the president of NPDA Koshi zonal committee, anno-unced his candidacy yesterday. — HNS

Goods confiscated

CHITWAN:

District Police Office, Bharatpur has confiscated goods worth around Rs 199,000 smuggled into the country. A mobile police team on duty had recovered the goods including hardware, sari, kurta salwar and nail polish from a local trader. The confiscated goods have been handed over to Birgunj Customs Office for necessary action. — RSS

Action against traders

BUTWAL:

The Nepal Bureau of Standards and Metrology, Regional Office Butwal took action against 419 traders and business for violating the regulations of standards and metrology in the last fiscal year. The action was taken following the surprise check carried out by the monitoring team of the office in Bhairahawa and Butwal of Rupandehi, Taulihawa and Krishnanagar of Kapilvastu as well as various markets of Nawalparasi, Arghakhanchi, Palpa and Gulmi. — RSS
