Kathmandu:

Landscape Expression’, the third solo exhibition of Pramila Shakya (Bajracharya) began on September 9 at The Art Shop. The exhibition comprises 29 paintings, all in the medium of oil except one in acrylic.

The landscapes though looks unfamiliar at a glance are the alleys where she belongs. “I gave these works semi-abstract form as to make it more expressive,” Pramila says.

Use of bold and solid colour patches gives shapes to the images she has created. The colours speak of optimism.

A graduate in fine arts, Pramila has already demonstrated dexterity in landscape paintings in her earlier solo exhibitions. Her paintings, this time have transcend frontiers sketching scenic view from a vantage point. Since early 90’s she has been in this field and has been able to clinch quite a number of awards. The Japanese Ambassador to Nepal had inaugurated the show. The price of the paintings ranges from Rs 2,000 to Rs 36,000. The exhibition is on till September 21.
