KATHMANDU: The National Reconstruction Authority on Monday announced to launch a month-long campaign to distribute the first instalment of reconstruction grant to survivors of the 2015 earthquake. NRA Chief Executive Officer Sushil Gyewali announced that those who have already signed the grant agreement with the government for reconstruction would get the first instalment of Rs 50,000 within a month. So far, 339,462 households have signed the agreement. Within the same period, the NRA would complete signing agreements with other house owners.  Likewise, complaints filed against the reconstruction body would be addressed, he added. The NRA said it could mobilise its staff on weekends and other holidays as well to meet the target. Though the reconstruction drive is smooth in Sindhupalchok, Dolakha, Ramechhap, Okhaldhunga, Sindhuli, Kavrepalanchok, Makawanpur, Gorkha, Dhading, Nuwakot and Rasuwa districts; the government is yet to begin the task in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur districts. A preliminary survey in these three districts is yet to be over.
