The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) today filed two separate corruption cases in the Special Court against some high-ranking officials of the Agricultural Development Bank and businessmen accusing them of misappropriating Rs 100 million. The CIAA filed the case against Acting Managing Director of the Agricultural Development Bank Jalan Kumar Sharma, Deputy Managing Director Ram Chandra Maharjan, Divisional Chief Bharat Kumar Pokhrel and Department Chief Gopal Prasad Ghimire. The anti-graft body has accused them of being involved in misappropriation of Rs 100 million while awarding business loans to two business firms — Kathmandu Tuk Tuk and Ravi International. The CIAA has sought two-year jail term for them and a payment of the defaulted amount.
