KANCHANPUR: Indian Seema Suraksha Bal (SSB) arrested three Nepalis, including one woman, in possession of 4.5 kg hashish from the Banbasa bridge above Mahakali River on Nepal-India border.
The suspects are identified as Bimal Gharti Magar (38) and Shanti Budhathoki (37) of Kohalpur, Banke, and Laxman Sunar (27) of Kharibhatti, Bhimdatta Municipality.
They were heading to Banbasa on the Indian side on a motorcycle with Nepali licence plate.
It has been learned that Magar had hired Budhathoki and Sunar for the delivery of the contraband.
He reportedly offered Rs 10,000 to Budhathoki as a carrier, and Rs 5,000 to Sunar as motorcycle driver.
The SSB handed over the trio to Indian police for further action.
DSP Nain Singh Karki at the Kanchanpur District Police Office on the Nepali side, however, said the Nepali authorities are yet to receive information about the arrests.
