Vice-President Pun to leave for Venezuela tonight

KATHMANDU: Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun is leaving for Venezuela to attend the 17th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit, on Wednesday. In his two-day visit, Vice-President Pun will address the 17th NAM Summit and also attend a dinner hosted by the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicholas Maduro Moros, in honour of the heads of states, governments and delegations attending the Summit, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed in a press statement today. Meanwhile, preceding the NAM Summit, the senior officials' meeting and the ministerial meeting are taking place on September 13-14 and September 16-16 respectively. A team of Nepali delegates including  Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York Durga Prasad Bhattarai, MoFA Joint-Secretary Bharat Raj Paudyal and other MoFA officials is representing Nepal in the meetings. Pun is scheduled to return home on September 21.
