Kathmandu, November 27 Nepal need to work on their batting when they take on Sri Lanka in their second match of the ACC Womenâs Asia Cup at the Terdthai Cricket Ground in Bangkok on Monday. Nepal faced a nine-wicket defeat against Test-playing nation Pakistan on Sunday due to poor batting and coach Raju Basnyat feels the players need to work more on the batting to give a tough challenge to Sri Lanka. âOur batting flopped against Pakistan in the first match but our players need to improve themselves against Sri Lanka,â said coach Raju Basnyat. Nepali battersâ performance against Pakistan was disappointing as 10 batswomen failed to reach double figures with skipper Rubina Chhetri being the top scorer with 11 runs. However, Nepal are eyeing an upset result against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. âWe will try to put up a good show against Sri Lanka. If the players perform to their potential, we can have a result in our favour,â added Basnyat. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka faced an eight-wicket defeat against Pakistan today. Sri Lanka scored 112-8 in 20 overs and Pakistan reached the target in 18.2 overs with eight wickets on hand. Nepal and Sri Lanka will be facing each other for the second time in the Asia Cup in four years. The last encounter between Nepal and Sri Lanka was during the group stage match of 2012 Asia Cup held in China where Lankans recorded a 20-run win.
