BAGLUNG: The local administration has recently started distribution of smart driving licence in the Dhaulagiri zone. At least 20 persons have received the smart licence in the first phase of distribution. The new technology was adopted to bring uniformity in the distribution of licence, according to Dhaulagiri Zonal Transportation Management Office in Baglung. Chief Rajendra Prasad Ghimire at the Office said that the licence could also be used in foreign countries. The Department of Transport Management has been distributing the smart licences in Dhaulagiri and Gandaki zones after the distribution in Bagmati zone. Those seeking new licenses and others renewing their old licenses will now be provided with the smart driving license which stores electronic data of the concerned license holder. The term lasts for 10 years and a person must submit Rs 500 in revenue to receive it.
