Integrated development road map for Province 7 being mooted

DHANGADHI: Initiatives have been taken for the integrated development of Province 7, a region that is comparatively behind the rest of the provinces in the country in terms of development. In this connection, a workshop on the theme of holistic development of Province 7 has been planned here today and tomorrow. Top leaders of the political parties, civil society and intelligentsia will take part in the workshop. Among the top leaders attending the workshop are Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and former Prime Minister and Rastriya Prajatantra Party leader Lokendra Bahadur Chand. Similarly, prominent persons from Province 7 living and working outside the province including in the capital will be among the attendees. The information about the workshop was shared in a news conference organised by the Management Association of Nepal (MAN), Far-western Region Chapter. MAN president and programme coordinator Dharmananda Awasthi said a blueprint for the integrated development of the Province 7 would be sketched in the extensive discussions. He said intensive discussions would be held on plan formulation, social development and good governance, human development, physical infrastructure development, integrated water resources development, economic sector development, health and sanitation, drinking water and agriculture, social security, tourism development and its concept. The comprehensive discussion is taking place under the joint aegis of the Far-west Concern Forum, MAN Far-west Region Chapter and the Far-west Development Commission.
