Teenager falls 2,000 metres off a cliff in Baglung

KATHMANDU: A 14-year-old boy died after falling off some 2,000 metres down a cliff in Baglung district on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Himal Thapa Magar, a permanent resident of Galkot Municipality-5 in Baglung. Magar along with his four other friends had gone to pick Himalayan Rhubarb (Rheum australe), commonly known as Padamchal, when he fell off the Chuli cliff on Friday, said the Western Regional Police Office in Pokhara. All four of his friends returned their home but Rai. Police along with locals carried out a search operation, where they recovered his body some 2000 metres down the cliff. Police are looking into the case.
