Economic development with Constitution implementation: Basnet

KATHMANDU: Minister for Information and Communications Mohan Bahadur Basnet on Wednesday said that the country would pursue economic development with the implementation of the new Constitution. 'Now the country's main agenda should be for economic development,' said Minister Basnet at a programme organised in the Capital today. Claiming that Nepali Congress would become the first party in the third phase of local level elections in Province 2, and the provincial and federal elections scheduled for January 21 next year, the NC leader asked party leaders and cadres to come together committed and in a disciplined manner. He also said initiatives were being taken to bring disgruntled party on board for the polls through Constitution amendment. At the event, various newly elected representatives including mayor, deputy mayor and rural municipality chairperson and vice chairperson were honoured.
