Police intercepts truck transporting cattle to India

MAHOTTARI: At least 29 cattle that were being transported to India illegally by dodging the customs have been taken under control. The Area Police Office in Bardibas acted on a special tip off and took under control 26 cows and three oxen from Bardibas Municipality-2. Police intercepted a truck (Na 6 Ka 3841) transporting the animals along the Aaurahi-Jaleshwor road stretch to India from Bardibas, said Inspector Basudev Thapa. The cattle was later brought to Hetauda. Police investigation further revealed that the bovines were being taken to Bangladesh via India. The truck has been sent to the Customs Office, Jaleshwor for legal action.
