Price of gold, silver goes up slightly

Kathmandu, September 2 The price of the precious metals, gold and silver, inched up in the week between August 27 to September 1. Price of gold went up by Rs 1,000 per tola and silver price increased by Rs 15 a tola in the review period. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of gold was set at Rs 55,500 per tola on Sunday. It remained the same the next day. On Tuesday, the price of the yellow metal increased by Rs 1,000 per tola to Rs 56,500 a tola. However, bullion price declined by Rs 200 per tola on Wednesday to Rs 56,300 a tola. The price of gold again declined by Rs 300 a tola to Rs 56,000 per tola on Thursday. However, it bounced back by Rs 500 per tola to reach Rs 56,500 a tola on Friday. Meanwhile, the market opened on Sunday with the price of silver set at Rs 755 a tola, and it remained unchanged the next day. Silver price went up by Rs 15 a tola to Rs 770 a tola on Tuesday. The price of the grey metal remained the same on Wednesday. However, silver price fell by five rupees a tola to Rs 765 per tola on Thursday. On Friday, silver price bounced back by Rs 10 a tola to end the week at Rs 770 per tola.
