RAUTAHAT: The ruling Nepali Congress and Federal Socialist Forum have claimed major posts at the Garuda Municipality of Rauthat district. Federal Socialist Forum Indu Ray Yadav won the mayor of the Municipality with 3,876 votes while his nearest rival Sunil Kumar Yadav of Nepali Congress received 3,803 votes. Likewise, Nepali Congress Rangila Devi has been elected as the deputy mayor of the Municipality. She garnered 4,603 votes while her nearest rival Bindu Devi of FSF collected 4,276 votes. Earlier, the third phase of local level elections were held on September 18.
