Janajati students vouch for republic

Lalitpur, January 26:
The second national convention of the Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities Students (NEFINS) held here on Tuesday unanimously elected a 13-member national executive committee.
The convention decided to go for a republican setup. Om Gurung, Bhupendra Pulami Magar, Puspa Limbu and Kishor Shrepa are vice-president, general secretary, secretary and treasurer of the committee, which is headed by Chandra Bikram Rai.
Sange Lama Hyolmo, Suk Bahadur Tamang, Dev Kumar Sunuwar, Govinda Chhantyal and Rajan Kumar Danuwar are the committee members.
The janajati students also decided to actively participate in the ongoing movement for inclusive democracy and decided to boycott the municipal elections scheduled for February 8.
Representatives of 19 janajati students’ organisations had taken part in the convention.
