Rautahat, October 16 Blacktopping work of the Gaur-Gangapipara-Samanpur road section in Rautahat has remained incomplete even after expiry of the project deadline. The contracting company Bity Cannon Joint Venture is yet to give the final touch to the 5.5 km long road stretch. The contract was signed some two years ago. The incomplete work has made the journey along the road risky. Even the surface of the completed road section is reported to be peeling off at various places. Vehicle owners have complained that the worn-out road has several ditches. Ashok Jha, Ward member of Durgabhagawati Rural Municipality blamed the incomplete work on gross negligence of the construction company. He said even the Road Division Office, Rautahat had failed to show promptness in taking action against the contractor.
