Kathmandu, November 7 A 20-member Nepali youth cricket team on Tuesday left for Malaysia to take part in the ACC U-19 Youth Asia Cup slated for November 9-20. Nepal are in Group A along with India, Bangladesh and Malaysia. Nepal will take on Bangladesh in their opening match on November 11 at the Kinrara Oval before playing against India the following day. Nepal will then face hosts Malaysia on November 14 at the Bayuemas Oval. Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates are in Group B. The UAE earned the final spot in the event after winning the Western Regional Qualifiers. Nepali team comprises of skipper Dipendra Singh Airee, Sandeep Lamichhane, Asif Sheikh, Anil Kumar Sah, Pawan Sharraf, Sandeep Sunar, Rohit Kumar Paudel, Kishor Mahato, Pranit Thapa Magar, Shahab Alam, Kamal Singh Airee, Prakash KC, Jitendra Singh, Bhim Sharki and Rasid Khan. U-19 team head coach Binod Das, assistant coach Kalam Ali, batting consultant Murgang Jagdish Desai, manager and technical analyst Raman Shiwakoti and physiotherapist Dinesh Bhatta also accompanied the players to Malaysia. The Nepali team travelled to Malaysia after playing three-match friendly series against Bangladesh and defeated the hosts by six wickets in the last match. Nepal faced a three-wicket defeat in the opening match and went down by 123 runs in the second match.
