Lamjung, November 23 As the upcoming elections draw close, Manjari theatre group of Lamjung is very much active in making people aware about voting rights and methods through street plays. “Most of the voters in the district are found to be unaware about elections and voting process as voter education programme did not reach many people. We have been teaching them about when and how to vote through our street plays,” said the theater group chairperson Kedar Bohara. Street shows are being staged in coordination the Election Commission and District Election Office. Besides the Manjari theater group, Himali Stage Kathmandu is also involved in stage shows. “Street shows are being staged to minimise the number of invalid votes,” said Himali Theatre chairperson and street shows’ coordinator Hari Adhikari.
