CPN-UML leader Khanal wins in Ilam

ILAM: CPN-UML's senior leader and former Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal won a Ilam constituency parliamentary seat with a wide margin of 17,170 votes. Khanal received 36,807 votes, while his nearest contender Nepali Congress's Bhupendra Kattel garnered 19,637 votes. Likewise, CPN-UML's Kajiman Kagate claimed Ilam 2 (B) Provincial Assembly seat with 17,986 votes. His closest rival Nepali Congress's Durga Baral managed 10,021 votes.
