Four arrested for forgery in Ramechhap

Ramechhap, January 18 At least four persons including a ward chairperson were held on the charge of their involvement in forgery in the issuance of a citizenship certificate in Ramechhap, today. Rudra Bahadur Newar, Umakunda Rural Municipality Ward No 7 chairperson and Ward Secretary Keshar Bahadur Khatri, besides two others were held on the charge. They have been detained for further investigation. However, citizenship receiver Nishan Joshi of Kathmandu, mastermind Hari Sunuwar and Dunimaya of Bhuji, Umakunda-7, who pretended to be Joshi’s mother were held a week ago. Former assistant chief district oficer Sita Ram Thapa has also been summoned for his ill intention. Thapa is currently serving as assistant chief district officer in Kavre. “Investigation into the forgery case is under way and the four accused have been detained,” said Inspector Rajendra Thapa at District Police Office, Ramechhap. Nishan Joshi of Kathmandu had obtained the citizenship certificate as a resident of Bhuji, Umakunda Rural Municipality 7. The incident came to the fore after local Khip Bahadur Sunuwar filed a complaint at the Ministry of Home Affairs.
