BCC, Fighter advance to quarter-finals

KATHMANDU: Baluwatar Cricket Club and Royal PC Fighter advanced to the quarter-finals of the Khukuri Challenger T20 Cup here at the Mulpani Cricket Ground on Sunday. In Group B matches, BCC defeated Fighter by six wickets to win all four matches of the group and topped the table with 12 points. Despite the defeat, Fighter finished as runners-up with nine points. Put into bat first, Fighter scored 158-4 in their allotted 20 overs before BCC reached 159-4 in 18.2 overs. BCC’s Amar Singh Rautela, who claimed a wicket and scored 16-ball 30 with the help of three boundaries and two sixes, was named the man-of-the-match. In another match, Trimurty Boys beat IoE Pulchowk by five wickets. Batting first, Pulchowk scored 170-3 riding in Gaurav Khadka’s 61-ball 116 runs hitting 17 boundaries and two sixes. In reply, Jibant Lamsal scored an unbeaten 78-ball 131 with the help of 13 boundaries and four sixes to guide Trimurty to 174-5 with two balls to spare.
