Forces beat up six persons

Kavre, February 24:
Six persons, including two army personnel, were injured when a patrolling team of security men beat them up at Chalal Ganeshsthan VDC of Kavre today.
A team of Royal Nepalese Army personnel from the Rudra Dhoj Battalion beat army peepas Jit Bahadur Waiba, 31, and Dutelal Tamang, 34, of Goswara Battalion. Both of them were in their homes on leave of a month and three months respectively.
A civilian Makar Dhoj Tamang, 32, was also seriouly injured by the beating and is undergoing treatment in a hospital in Banepa, while Bimsen BK, Suman Tamang, and an ex-army man Chandra Bahadur sustained minor injuries and have returned home after treatment.
A security source said those beaten had tried to flee when plain clothes patrolling security forces tried to interrogate them and were beaten up when forces tried to take them under control.
CDO Shambhu Koirala said he did not have information about the incident.
Head of the Rudra Dhoj Battalion Om Bikram Rana said the incident was a minor one and would be settled soon.
