The work was being carried out by dividing the road into three sections and the first section of the road was supposed to have been completed on May 10, the second section on May 20 and the third section on May 30 respectively. As the contractors didn’t meet the deadline, they registered an application with the project’s consultant company seeking extension of their term yet again. Of the three sections, black-topping of the second section has been completed. As per engineer Shiva Khanal, Narayangadh-Muglin road project information officer, a total of 10.7 kilometres road from Dasdhunga to Simaltal has been completed. The contractor has to repair the road in case it gets damaged within one year of its completion. Engineer Khanal said that Indian BLA and Nepali Shrestha Nirman Company were entrusted with the construction agreement from Aaptari to Dasdhunga; Indian Wood Hill and Nepali Lama Nirman Company were entrusted for upgradation of Dasdhunga to Simaltal stretch; and Indian Supreme and Nepali Rautaha Nirman Company were entrusted with the contract for expansion up to Muglin.  So far, 89.6 per cent work of the first section, 97 per cent of the second section and 84 per cent of the third section has been completed, according to Khanal.
