Kathmandu, September 6 The Parliamentary Hearing Committee has called its meeting tomorrow to discuss issues related to the confirmation hearing for chief justice nominee Om Prakash Mishra. According to Assistant Spokesperson for the Parliament Secretariat Keshav Raj Aryal, the Parliamentary Hearing Committee meeting tomorrow could fix the date for confirmation hearing and also the date for oral presentation of those who have lodged complaints against the CJ nominee. The Parliamentary Hearing Committee has so far received four complaints against CJ nominee Mishra, mostly relating to the verdicts passed by his bench. Aryal said the Parliamentary Hearing Committee would now continue holding its meeting after a brief interval and it was likely that the panel would hold CJ confirmation hearing within seven to 10 days. The parliamentary panel has received a letter sent by the Constitutional Council recommending Nabin Kumar Ghimire for the Chief Commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority. The Constitutional Council had recommended Ghimire for appointment as chief commissioner of anti-graft body yesterday. According to Aryal, the Parliamentary Hearing Committee would discuss his nomination tomorrow and could decide to call for complaints, if any, against him. Normally the panel gives a 10-day’s time to the public to lodge complaints against nominees for constitutional posts.
