Authorities strike agreement on reconstruction of Kasthamandap

KATHMANDU: An agreement has been signed between the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) and Kasthamandap Reconstruction Committee to carry out reconstruction of the historic Kasthamandap soon.

Joint-Secretary Rajeshwor Gyawali from KMC and Chairperson Rajesh Shakya representing the Committee signed the agreement in this regard on Friday.

Both sides agreed to carry out reconstruction as per the design approved by the Department of Archeology, keeping the archeological, historical and ancient value intact.

The KMC has already announced to provide Rs 500 million grant for rebuilding the historical heritage.

Preparations are afoot to complete the undertaking within four years.
