KATHMANDU: Coinciding with the fifth anniversary of Spectrum, a dozen poets on March 23 recited poems written about the paintings, which have been put on display from March 20 at the NAFA hall.

Pramod Snehi, Dabi Kshetri, Bimala Tumkhewa, Gobardhan Pooja, Anmol Poudel, Manoj Neupane, Prabha Bhattarai, RM Dangol, Saraswati ‘Pratiksha’, Rameshwar Raut ‘Matridas’, Ramesh Khanal recited their impromptu poems.

Litterateur/academician Bhuwan Dhungana opined that the paintings and poems complement each other. “They are only different mediums of expression that speak of ‘the law of beauty.’”

Saru Bhakta Shrestha, litterateur and member of the Royal Nepal Academy said, “Words are colours in literature as colours are words in the paintings.” He commended the combined job of the poets and painters, which he believed would ‘bridge’ the relationship gap between them.

Art critic Surendraraj Bhattarai critically commented on the overall activities of Spectrum and artworks, which were on display at the hall. Eighty-four works of art by various artists created during a workshop organised by the Spectrum last month have been exhibited.

(The exhibition is on till March 26)
