Pokhara, September 27 Kin of Shreeya Sunar of Pumbidhumdi, Kaski, who was murdered after rape a few days ago, have said they will receive her body after further tests. “We will receive the body and conduct her final rites after results of further test following the post-mortem at Nepal Police’s Forensic Science Lab are out,” said Udaya Khatri, a member of the struggle committee formed for justice in the wake of the girl’s murder. Though rape and murder was confirmed after the perpetrator confessed, samples were sent to the Forensic Science Lab for further test. Post-mortem of the girl’s body was conducted at the Western Regional Hospital underPokhara Institute of Health Sciences. Her body is at the hospital morgue. Shreeya’s father, who had been out of contact for long after he married another woman, arrived in Pumdibhumdi today. Shreeya’s mother has been in semi-conscious state after hearing about the murder. Pokhara Metropolis acting mayor Manjudevi Gurung issued a statement today expressing sadness over the rape and murder. “I express my deepest condolences to the victim’s family,” she said, pledging the sternest action against the perpetrator. Having left home for a nearby shop to buy biscuit on Monday evening, Shreeya was raped and murdered by local Kusum Poudel, 27. Shreeya’s body was found the following morning. Police had netted Poudel later in the evening. Police are recording Poudel’s statement to register a case against him. READ ALSO:
