OAG staffer in custody

KATHMANDU: The Special Court on Tuesday sent a staffer of the Office of the Auditor General, Devi Prasad Luitel, to judicial detention in order to proceed his case after he failed to post a bail of Rs 5.4 million. The court issued the order following a hearing on a case filed against him by the CIAA. CIAA has charged Luitel with corruption while auditing the accounts of the RNA. — HNS

MoU signed

KATHMANDU: Himalayan White House International College and Wakkani Hokusei Gakuen University of Japan on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on education collaboration between two educational institutions, according to a statement issued here on Tuesday. The signing of the MoU will help carry out research activities, reduce the digital divide and train competent IT engineers, it said. — HNS

Chinese team returns

Kathmandu: A delegation of the Chinese Journalists Association, which was in Nepal on the invitation of the Nepal Journalists Association (NJA), returned home on Tuesday. NJA president Manju Ratna Shakya, and the Counsellor and other office-bearers at the Chinese Embassy here saw off the team at the Tribhuvan International Airport.—RSS
