Janakpurdham, April 2:

The Janakpur city committee of the Nepali Congress (Democratic) today urged the seven-party alliance to withdraw its protest plans at least for the duration of the Ram Nawami celebrations.

The alliance is scheduled to launch its agitation in the capital and districts from April 6-9.

A meeting held under the chairmanship of NC-D city president, Digambar Raya, today urged the alliance and the district coordination committee to withdraw the strike scheduled in view of the Ram Nawami festival.

It said demonstrations sche-duled for April 8-9 could be held as per previous plans.

It also demanded that the local administration curb increasing crime and violence in the city.
