Rautahat, May 4:

Even after the fall of the King’s government, and after the seven-party front sent letters to government offices asking that all sorts of payments to the fallen government’s favourites be stopped, the Gaur Municipality made a payment of Rs 27,000 to the National Journalists’ Association (NJA).

The alliance held a meeting on April 25, a day after the King’s government ceased to exist, and sent letters to all the government offices asking them to check financial irregularities by the nominated and elected members of the local body.

Executive officer of Gaur Niranjan Kumar Rimal paid Rs 27,000 to NJA by ignoring alliance’s request, leader of the leftist front, Udaya Narayan Jha said. Manoj Sharma of the NC-D alleged that Rimal also embezzled a large of amount in the name of organisations and demanded that the government initiate action against him. Rimal said he made the payment as per the mayor’s order.
