Kathmandu, April 13:
Nepali Congress president Girija Prasad Koirala, in his message on the eve of New Year 2063, appealed to all Nepalis to “take rest” only after the ongoing mass movement achieves its goals. “I urge everybody to take part in the mass movement for a bright future and not to slacken until the movement sees success,” Koirala said today.
“Those brave heroes, who sacrificed their lives for democracy, have given us the responsibility of creating a new Nepal,” Koirala said, urging all sections of the society to help turn the dreams of the heroes into reality. He expressed gratitude to national and international organisations for their support to the movement.
The mass movement will be successful notwithstanding the government effort to suppress it, Koirala said. Koirala said that the King’s ambition was pushing the country towards “unimaginable” crisis and disaster.
Similarly, NC (D) president Sher Bahadur Deuba, in his New Year message today said that the people’s victory in the struggle for democracy was inevitable and the royal government’s defeat certain.
“For the establishment of peace, stability and democracy through the mass movement, we need to have patience, commitment and courage,” Deuba said, wishing all Nepalis a happy New Year 2063.
