PM Oli to leave for Vietnam, Cambodia

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is paying an official visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and to the Kingdom of Cambodia from May 9. Prime Minister Oli is visiting Vietnam from May 9 to 13 at the invitation of his counterpart, Vietnam's Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and to Cambodia from May 13 to 15 May at the invitation of Cambodian Prime Minister Samdeh Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen. The Prime Minister will be accompanied by his spouse Radhika Shakya, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the visit, the Prime Minister is scheduled to hold delegation level bilateral talks with his Vietnamese counterpart Phuc. He will also meet with the President of the National Assembly. The Prime Minister of Vietnam will host an official dinner in honour of the Prime Minister of Nepal and his delegation. During his visit to Vietnam, Prime Minister Oli will address the International Day of Vesak in Ha Nam Province. He will also address the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Nepal-Vietnam Business Forum in Ha Noi. During the visit, the two countries will sign some agreements and memorandum of understandings to further promote bilateral relations. Similarly, during the visit to Cambodia, the Prime Minister will hold delegation level bilateral talks with his Cambodian counterpart Hun Sen. Following the official talks, the Cambodian Prime Minister will host an official dinner in honour of the Prime Minister and his delegation. Prime Minister Oli will also meet with the President of the National Assembly and the President of the Senate. He will address the business meeting in Phnom Penh. The members in the delegation of the Prime Minister include Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Prime Minister's Chief Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal and Foreign Affairs Advisor Rajan Bhattarai, members of the parliament, high-ranking government officials, elected representatives from local bodies, as well as representatives of private sector, and mediapersons, adds a press release issued by the Ministry. Prime Minister Oli and the delegation will return home on May 15.
