Property worth 5.2m gutted in Bhojpur house fire

BHOJPUR: Property worth around Rs 5.2 million were gutted in a fire that destroyed a house in Bhojpur Municipality-9 of Bhojpur district on Thursday. The fire that started at around 1:00 pm from a rented room spread to the whole house belonging to Bakhat Bahadur Shrestha at Barbot, said District Police Office (DPO), Bhojpur. According to Police Inspector Amitlal Majhi at Bhojpur DPO, the fire gutted Rs 500,000 cash along with clothes, bedding, and items in the grocery store operated in the house by Shrestha himself. Similarly, properties of other tenants of the house were also destroyed by the fire, Inspector Majhi added. Various LPG gas cylinders exploded during the fire, causing further damages, local Nabin Pradhan claimed. Nepal Police along with personnel from Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and locals doused the fire after three hours of effort.
