Kathmandu, April 24:

In view of the high probability of many protesters getting injured in the joint protest called by the seven parties tomorrow, the United Health Struggle Committee today announced it will provide medical assistance on the spot to those hurt.

Earlier, the Deurali Janata Pharmaceutical Company provided the injured with necessary drugs free, while Lomus Pharmaceutical Company doled out Rs 35,000 in cash and Rs 50,000 worth of drugs for those hurt during protests.

Meanwhile, the Nepal Medical Association (NMA) condemned the excessive use of force against protesters. It has also demanded that ambulances be allowed to ply without obstruction and that health workers on duty at incident sites be allowed to function freely.

“The issues raised by the seven-party alliance, which are also the concerns of common people, should be addressed at the earliest for the establishment of lasting peace,” an NMC statement said.

Vinayak Hospital and Maternity Home Pvt Ltd has promised free treatment for life to family members of those killed during protests. The hospital has also been operating upon for free those injured during the ongoing movement.
