2 protestors succumb to injuries

Kathmandu, May 7 :
Two protestors who were injured in the Jana Andolan II died yesterday .This raises to 21 the number of persons who died in the Andolan .
Anil Lama, a resident of Bhuwal Dada, Boudha, died at Nepal Medical College. He is survived by his wife and four children. He was hospitalised after he felt unconscious , hit by a tear gas shot at Chabahil on April 17. He was suffering from Bronchitis as well. Lama is a member of the Democratic National Youth Organisation (DNYF). Chandra Bailkoti, 35, a UML cadre, too, died yesterday night at Medicare Hospital, Chabahil. He was injured at Tripureshwor on April 22. Bailkoti is survived by his wife and three children. The body of Bailkoti was cremated today at Pashupati Aryaghat.
A meeting of seven political parties held today demanded that the government provide pension to the widows, unemployment allowance or employment to all the injured protestors and announce them ‘martyrs’.
The meeting also appealed to the family members of the hurt not to accept the fund provided by those who were responsible for suppressing the movement.
