Malnourished children get health services

Bajura, November 27 Health workers have reached the villages at Budhinanda Municipality in search of malnourished children in Bajura. With the initiatives of the municipality, health workers working in different health organisations reached the doorsteps of the locals and provided health service to malnourished children. According to the Department of Health of the municipality, the health workers also carried out health check-up among the malnourished children and provided education to them. Assistant health worker Aasha Kumari Thapa at Basic Health Service Centre, Brahmatola said health workers reached the houses of locals who could not reach the health facility because their condition was serious. She said the health workers reached the doorsteps of the locals and conducted health check-up of children. “We informed the people about vaccination, sanitation, nutrition, among others, under heath education,” she said. There are 10 wards in Budhinanda Municipality. Mayor Dipak Bikram Shah of the municipality said an assistant heath worker and an auxiliary mid-wife were deployed in the villages to provide health service to people. “Children with serious malnutrition are being treated under direct observation of doctors in the health organisation,” he added. Shahi said many children were suffering from malnutrition in the municipality. “The programme targets the backward community,” he informed. Shahi informed that the municipality had been keeping the locals’ health as top priority. The health workers not only provided treatment to the malnourished children, but also to pregnant women and elderly people in the villages. The municipality office said the health workers provided treatment to people with minor complications at their houses, but the patients suffering from fatal diseases were advised to reach the health organisation.
