Kathmandu, May 17:
Two persons snatched the handbag of Jayanti Jha, a staffer of The Himalayan Times (THT), at Dhobighat, Lalitpur, while she was on the way home last evening. The two persons, who came on a motorcycle, snatched the bag which contained Rs 1,500, a mobile set worth around Rs 40,000, identity cards, debit cards and notebooks.
Swoyambhu Bajra-charya, inspector at the Lalitpur Sub-branch of the Valley Crime Investigation Branch (VCIB), suspected local teenagers might have snatched the bag.
Citing previous records, Bajracharya said: “Local teenagers were found to be involved in a number of such cases,” he said.
“We have launched an investigation to identify and nab the culprits,” he added.
