Kathmandu:

Kathmandu and Nuwakot registered emphatic wins in the Region No 3 Cricket Selection Tournament here today. Kathmandu beat Lalitpur by 150 runs while Nuwakot thrashed Tribhuvan University by nine wickets.

Batting first, Kathmandu scored 212/9 in 40 overs. In reply, Lalitpur was packed for 62 runs in 18.4 overs. Sharad Vesawkar top-scored with 61 for Kathmandu.

In another match, Niraj Basnet (74) fought a lone battle for TU as they could muster just 132 runs in 27.1 overs. Nuwakot chased the total in 22 overs with opener Rakesh Singh scoring brilliant 70 off 55 balls. — HNS
