All eyes of the industry were on the necks, earlobes and fingers of red carpet celebrities, eyeing the jewellery trends that influence consumers’ tastes. Toping the attention was actress Geena Davis with a $20 million ensemble.
Commander in Chief star Davis arrived with a Chris Aire designed diamond and red gold lariat necklace set with 72 diamonds with a 363 total carat weight. The long and elegant item is estimated to be worth $13.5 million. Her wrist carried a diamond and platinum line bracelet, a three-row diamond and platinum bracelet, and two Asscher cut diamond and red gold bracelets. The four are reportedly valued at $1.3 million. A diamond and platinum scroll ring and a 16 carat pear shaped diamond and platinum cocktail ring, with a total value of $725,000 sparkled on a finger, and, finally, a $195,000 diamond pave and platinum Aire traveler timepiece completed the look of her arms.
Hanging from her ears were diamond drop and red gold 3-stone earrings, a mere $280,000.
Davis was not alone with millions in sparklers. With the help of Chopard, model Tyra Banks carried more than $3 million in diamond jewellery: a 60 carat diamond bracelet, round brilliant-cut white Journey diamond drop earrings with a total weight of 30 carats, and a diamond oval-shaped right hand ring.
In general, large diamonds were popular, many right hand Rings were worn, and one common style was 19th century inspired designs. Diamond earrings included classic studs, delicate drops, vintage chandelier, and Journey drop earrings. Diamond necklaces were in bold vintage or delicately layered. — Luxist
