Kathmandu, September 17 :
Relief materials collected by the Community Service and Development Society, Koteshwor, the Community Police Service and the Nariprabha Centre, have been distributed to flood victims of Kamdi VDC in Banke district.
The relief materials were provided to 383 persons of 61 households of the VDC, general secretary of the society, Rabindra Thapa, said. The distributed materials include rice, cereals, salts, clothing, soaps, shoes, beaten rice, wheat flour and medicines. The materials were distributed by a four-member team lead by chairman of the Nariprabaha Centre Sunita Thapa.
Meanwhile, the Mid and Far-Western Society, Rupandehi, has collected relief materials worth Rs 800,000 for the flood victims. A group of people who have been working in various private and government offices there coming from the Mid-and Far-Western regions have collected the relief assistance from various organisations, businessmen, financial institutions and individuals.
It is learnt that the materials will be provided to the victims with the help of the Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS). The work of distributing relief materials to the flood victims in Banke district is on. The Banke Education Higher Secondary School, Nepalgunj, has handed over relief materials worth Rs 223,700 to the NRCS, Banke.
