Pretty girls from Pokhara, Biratnagar and Kathmandu — yes, that’s 20 of them who will be squaring off for the Lux Supermodel title on September 22.

One of the largest model hunts in the country, this, as the aspiring supermodels believe, is one of the best platforms for newcomers to launch their careers and to get noticed in the big glamourous world of modelling.

Organised by Unilever Nepal, they ran eye-catching ads for the hunt in the national dailies that many of the participants said were so attractive that they ran to submit their portfolios in a big hurry.

The hunt began in Biratnagar, with the audition taking place on August 26. Five girls out of 47 who had registered were chosen for the finals. Contestants had come from many places like Biratnagar, Jhapa, Dharan, Itahari, Damak, Birtamod and Urlabari. Pokhareli beauties got their chance to show off on September 2. Thirteen girls from Lekhnath municipality and Pokhara metropolis had come in for the auditions. From here too five were chosen for the finals. The Kathmandu audition was held on September 9. Ten participants were shortlisted for the finals.

The 20 girls have been undergoing trainings from September 17 in preparation for their big night on Friday. In the run-up to the finals, a number of other awards have also been given in different categories — beautiful complexion, beautiful smile, beautiful hair and for dancing skills among others.

The winner of the Lux Supermodel Hunt will walk away with a cash prize of Rs 50,000, while the first and second runners-up will be getting Rs 25,000 and Rs 15,000 each respectively.

The ramp is set. The lights will come on. Watch out for your supermodel.

The finals will be aired live on Image Channel from 7:30 pm, while Mero Mobile subscribers can vote for their favourites by sending SMS to 2020 till 8:00 pm.
