APF, NRT win

Kathmandu, December 18:
Armed Police Force (APF) blanked Saraswoti Youth Club (SYC) 3-0 and New Road Team (NRT) edged Machhindra Energizer Club 2-1 in the Martyrs Memorial San Miguel ‘A’ Division League Football here today.
Sri Krishna Prajapati, Sunil Subedi and Gopal Thapa scored a goal each in APF win. Jeeven Sinkenman and Laxman Ruchal scored for NRT while Bikash Subba pulled back one for Machhindra in the second game.
Prajapati put APF ahead in the 28th minute and Subedi doubled the lead in the 64th minute. Thapa headed home on Man Sajan Rajbhandari’s freekick five minutes later.
APF coach Dhruba KC said, “We earned three points but we should have scored more,” KC said.
Jeeven Sinkeman gave NRT the lead in the ninth minute before Laxman Ruchal made it 2-0 four minutes before break. Machhindra pulled back one when skipper Bikash Subba scored in the 63rd minute.But NRT held on to their one-goal lead to ensure three points.
Despite the win NRT coach Raju Shakya said, “It was our worst performance of the league so far.”
