Gaighat: Local consumers today locked up the Udayapur Cement Factory and Udayapur Trade Union office for failing to meet the demand of cement. “Consumers of Gaighat, Deuki, Jaljale and Motigadha areas were compelled to purchase a sack of Udaypur cement through a coupon system so they padlocked the main gate of the factory to protest against it,” said a consumer Basanta Kumar Basnet. General Manager (GM) of the factory Tej Kanta Jha said: “The lock out cannot be justified as the factory is ready to provide cement as per demand.”
