Godavari, February 10:
Devi Armaja Pun, a Manokranti follower, today emerged on the land after meditating in a nine-feet-deep pit for 57 days.
Her feet left the spectators speechless. Her Guru, Dr Bikashananda, termed it ‘an extraordinary act’. “It can be an unusual event for conformists. As you know, the nature follows general law as well as the exceptional law of nature, which natural sciences cannot explain,” he argued.
Pun was buried in a nine-feet-deep pit. Her face was visibly pale and body had turned lean. According to Dr Bikashanand, she was supplied with a bottle of drinking water during the meditation session.
A 27-year old Pun, who hails from Pokhara, said she was never starved nor she thought of food. “I slightly felt appetite on the 50th day during my meditation,” she said.
Terming the days in the pit the most “satisfying moment” she ever had in her life, she said: “I forgot every other worldly thing and got to study myself all along.”
Her father Tika Bahadur Pun, who came to Kathmandu from his village yesterday, said: “I was a bit worried and kept calling to know about her health. But today I am really happy to know that she really made it.”
Sudha Devkota had stayed 15 days inside the pit. According to Bikashananda, these campaigners gain power through this act and realise who they are. “Our 19 followers will set out on a nationwide tour from February 13 to spread the knowledge about Manokranti (self-tranformation) to make this place a better place to live in,” he said.
