Kathmandu:

Dr Bijnan Acharya, a USAID/Nepal specialist who died in the Taplejung helicopter crash on September 23, 2006, was honoured posthumously with the Thomas Jefferson Star Award for Foreign Service on Tuesday. US Ambassador James F Moriarty presented Dr Acharya’s family with the the Award, the highest honour given by the State Department to an employee killed in the line of duty, states the release issued by the American Centre here on Tuesday.
